Sweetshop Workshop

I have recovered from my wonderful trip to Salt Lake City, UT for Stampin' Up!'s annual convention. I say recovered because its stamping, learning, chatting, eating, and having way too much fun to sleep kind of event for me! I probably gained a good old 5 pounds just from eating desserts and munching late nights with my friends! (But it was soooo worth it!)

Well, speaking of sweets. One of my favorite parts of convention is all the ideas that I get not only from fellow demonstrators but the design team from Stampin' Up! The most delicious part of the event was this:

(These pictures were taking with my iphone because my camera died...but you can still see what I'm talking about.)

All handmade with paper, ribbon, and all the wonderful products and delicious colors from Stampin' Up! This is just a sampling but it has got me wanting to replicate my own sweetshop. Stay tuned...

Simple Card that a Kid Could Do It

No one can make the excuse that they are not talented enough to make their own card. I had my 8 year old and 6 year old create a birthday card for one of their friends.

They used the Big Shot die cutting machine and the Shapers and Movers XL Bigz Die with the Punch Windows Die.

You place the shape of the cutout that you want anywhere on the pink shaded area (which is magnetic) and then run your card stock through. It will cut and score your card for you all at one time!

Then, the kids used the Square Lattice Texture Folder for the accent on the bottom of the card.
Then, I helped them tied the ribbon around the bottom of the card and they added the buttons with glue dots.

Oh... I almost forgot the heart inset. It was stamped with the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and punched out with the Full Heart Punch.

It took them less than 5 minutes to put this together.

So proud of my little stampers!

Happy Father's Day

Yes, it's a bit late. But I wanted to share with you some of the things that I did for the fathers at the Ronald McDonald House.

The card above is a simple layout. I used one of my all time favorite stamp set, Define Your Life, Extreme Elements, and a retired set from the Occasions Mini Catalog from 2009 - Eight Great Greetings.

These were the gift boxes that coordinated with the greeting card. The stamps used were All Holiday, Extreme Elements, and Define Your Life. Sorry folks, the designer paper is discontinued. Inside I had a set of tools, so I thought the wood grain exterior would make the presentation without it being too typical. I would love to hear your thoughts, please feel free to leave a comment.

Stamp Club Opening

As I begin another year with Stampin' Up!, I begin filling my stamp clubs and hope to add new ones each year. I have only 1 opening left for my Patterns Club. As a member of the club, you get to come to 6 exclusive club workshops to attain new patterns to make 3D paper crafting projects, use my supplies and make projects free! Its a lot of fun. As a member of the club, you agree to purchase $25 in stamping merchandise each month we meet. This club will go from July 2010 - May 2011.

Why would you want to join?
  1. This is a great way to build up your supplies gradually. Soon, you will have a great collection of stamping products.
  2. Everyone gets their turn to be the "hostess". This means you collect HOSTESS BENEFITS! You'll get at least one stamp set plus $15 in free product on your hostess month. (You could get a lot more!)
  3. You'll collect patterns and ideas for great stamping projects.
  4. When you sign up, you'll get a free copy of the Idea Book and Catalog (a $10 value).
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of every other month. If you are interested, please contact me ASAP.

I also have a Technique Club where you'll learn different techniques and tricks to stamping. I'd also like to start a C&C club (Coffee & Cards) on Friday mornings. We'll meet at Starbucks off Pierce Street in Riverside, CA at 10:30 - noon. If any of these clubs interest you, please contact me. I love to meet new and experienced crafters!
