Congratulations Graduates

A great year is finally coming to an end--for both Stampin' Up! and schools. You have two more days left to purchase any of the retiring products.

We just celebrated our cousin's graduation from Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. We are so proud of her hard work and accomplishment. And in honor of her, I created the card above. You'll notice some sneak peek items (Summer Starfruit--the card base and new in-color; Stamp set: Layered Labels, and Accessory: Apothecary Accents Framelits) and some retired/retiring products (Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, Pocketful of Posies DSP and Build a Flower kit). Hope this summer brings lots of fun and travels for you all and much more time to craft. I'm definitely looking forward to that and relaxing more.

Tonight, we will be celebrating my baby's Kindergarten Graduation. I'll post many things from this event soon! Also, don't forget my OPEN HOUSE on Friday, June 1.

Happy Belated Mother's Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I certainly got spoiled from my friends and family! Today's share is a hybrid (digital and traditional designed) scrapbook. The base of this scrapbook was made with lunch bags and our Stampin' Up! Scrappin' Kit! I was asked by Joelle's teacher to help with a scrapbook to give to the 2nd grade class mothers and this is what we came up with.

Each student folded 2 lunch bags in half, punched holes on the sides, and tied with several ribbons.

Then, we cut the designer paper to size (about 4-1/2" square) and glued onto each page.

In the 2 pockets, the students put in poems and this certificate.

Finally, they decorated the pages with the coordinating "stickers"(coordinating die cuts that are self-adhesive) and added their pictures.

Although I was in the classroom helping, my special book was still a surprise and will be treasured forever!

Father's Day Card Swap

This month, I was asked to send in a manly card or Father's Day card. What is a manly card? First things that come to my mind are clean lines and streamlined. But am I being stereotypical? I have to say that it is the most difficult cards to create because I want to put all the girly and frilly accents onto it and I can't. Well, I guess I could but would it be "manly"? You see my dilemma? In the end, I made this:

I used my Digital Studio program to help me created the custom background paper and then layered it with the punched card stock and a couple of staples. It was quite easy. I didn't have to punch each background piece by hand but was able to copy and paste onto one single layer with the digital designing program. I used one of my favorite designer papers (Pocketful of Posies) to complete this card. I think the pieces that I used remind me of patterns that you might find in a tie. Wouldn't it have been great if I actually did use fabric and pieced it onto this card? Another time.
