Stampers Invade Lake Las Vegas

Forget gambling when you've got stamps and paper! Some of my Creative Souls (Stamp Ink Divas) and I drove to Henderson, NV and just had the most fabulous time crafting and meeting lots of creative people.

This is what I made to swap. Its simple and easy to copy. What do you think? And did you know that all the stamped images were done with My Digital Studio?!

{Project Details}
Stamp: Forever Young and Notably Ornate (My Digital Studio)
Ink: Basic Black (My Digital Studio)
Paper: Basic Black, Indigo Island, and Whisper White CS; Timless Protrait DSP.
Accessories: Crystal Effects, My Digital Studio, and Oval Punch.

(Julie, Shelli, Me, and Sue)
And even more fun, we got to chit chat with the co-founder of Stampin' Up!, Shelli Gardner.  I have to say she is just the most creative person I know but also so sweet and humble.

We just had to get a picture with her to show Sue's girls. They are just avid fans of Stampin' Up! and love the products as much as their mother does. But they were wondering if Sue would get to meet Shelli as others have done at Convention. Their eyes were filled with excitement at the thought that their mother might actually meet their Stampin' Up! celebrity. So, we just had to capture this moment. I can't wait to hear what they thought!

So much FUN!

Taking Notes with Style

I wanted to make something for the girls so they could take notes when we were at the Henderson Regionals, and decided this was the best choice:
not only does it have my bird (that I love so much) but a fun, modern twist.
{Pocketful Of Posies Designer Series Paper 122354}

And then, Sue surprised us with a sweet treat box with yummy gummies in them.

Do you recognize this box shape? It was made with the Petal Cone Die. Watch for upcoming post on how to make these.

Snap, Crackle, and Pop

Its time to make some good old, homemade Rice Krispy Treats!
My little helpers wanted to make a special treat to give to their teachers so this is what we made and tried to package them as nicely as we could!
When all was done, the fun part...scraping the bowl and spatula of all the goody remnants.
They definitely were:

My Digital Studio Milestone

If you're a facebook friend of mine, you know that I've gotten ALL THREE KIDS now in school. My baby ... is... in... Kindergarten. I have been dreaming about this time when I would have more free time to myself. But I was quite more emotional than I thought I would be when this day finally arrived! So you know I had to scrapbook this day with no other than my digital scrapbooking program, My Digital Studio.

She's quite familiar with the routine and campus from watch her brother and sister, so she had NO fear. She's already the social butterfly and as you can see, a little ham!

Christmas in July?

Yes, I'm about to share with you some new Holiday products that will be available starting September 1!

This was my prototype for a swap that I recently participated in. (I'll post the cards that I receive when I get them back.) I say prototype because I realized I didn't have enough of the wonderful twinkling sheets (silver glimmer paper) so I skipped that and replaced with glass glitter for my final swap. I was going to find a way to add my bling! (The photo does not do justice to how sparkly and beautiful these sheets of paper are!)

This stamp set (Festive and Fun) is great for water coloring and it comes in a set of 3 for other holidays: halloween and valentine's day! Can't show you the set (SU policy) until September but if you're on my mailing list, you may have gotten a copy of the Holiday Mini Catalog already and have seen how fun this set is and can be with your creativity.

One of my most favorite detail of the card is the folded medallion/flower. It was made using a new tool (available...yes, September 1) called Simply Scored. It has etched grooves every 1/8" to help you create perfectly measured score marks.  It's great for creating multiple projects or projects with a variety of score marks!

To create this medallion/flower, I took 1 3/4" x 12" strips (2) and scored every 1/4".

Adhered them to each other and punched the center of each fold with the crop-a-dile.

Then, I thread baker's twine through the holes and tightened. Heather Summers, a sweet and talented Canadian demonstrator, made a video on this technique so please take a look here for more information.

Next, I adhered the medallion/flower to the card with Tomboy multipurpose adhesive.

Finally, I needed red rhinestones for the holly berries. But Stampin' Up! doesn't carry red rhinestones small enough you say? I took the basic rhinestone jewels and colored them with a red sharpie! (Another fun little tip!)

It was fun to make and can't wait to share with you more Holiday Mini products!

Getting hot in 'ere

I'm down in Georgia visiting my parents and childhood friends and having so much fun. Our annual trip includes the Georgia Aquarium--the largest aquarium in the world and the Coca Cola Museum--the kids love that they can taste all the different sodas from all over the world. (I also think they love it because this is the only time they get to taste coke too.)

But I must say, I can't get over how hot and humid it is in the south. I guess I shouldn't complain because of the humidity, my skin has never been better!

Anyway, the hot news I really wanted to share is from Stampin' Up! More details, click here.

Buy 3 Designer Series Paper and receive 1 FREE. How great is that?! Stock up now and save because the offer only lasts until the end of August.
