Holiday Ornament

Handmade Ornament.
I got this idea from Carol Dunstan on Splitcoaststampers. Its a simple and fun project for the Holidays. Not only can you use it to decorate your tree but makes a great gift topper or a gift in itself.

  1. Choose two coordinating designer series paper and cut a 3" AND 2" square from each paper.
  2. Trim the square pieces into 1/2" strips. (HINT: You should have 12 strips of 3"x 1/2" and 8 strips of 2"x 1/2".)
  3. Using the 1/16" hole punch, pierce each end of the strips about 1/4" in from the end.
  4. Remove the cap of the hatpin and thread one side of the 3" strips. Make sure to alternate each paper for a nice pattern.
  5. Start with the bottom strip (closest to the loop/eye of the hatpin) and thread the other end onto the pin.
  6. Repeat until all the strips are threaded, overlapping the other and always starting from the bottom.
  7. You should have something that looks like a ball.
  8. Repeat steps 4-6 with the 2" strips.
  9. Add the crystal beads and place the cap back onto the hatpin.
  10. Finish by adding the ribbon to the loop/eye of the hatpin and hang.
Doesn't it look FABULOUS?!
