Welcome Spring & Redesigned Studio

As I have been redecorating my studio, this is my new "entry way".  I can display my projects and samples here and change out the decorations on the branches according to the theme and season. (The banner shown is one I made for a workshop.)

Its quite a simple banner but that's what I love about it. The Fun Flowers Die has become one of my favorite items from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I used it to cut my Whisper White accents and added the Sweet Stitches fabric brads for the center.
I even found bird printed boxes for extra storage. You can never have enough storage in a craft room!

"Boo" Banner

It may say Boo but no boos for this banner! Its so colorful, sparkly, and accented with that gorgeous Black Striped ribbon that it'll be a winner for all that see! This was inspired by my dear friend, Ruth Bingle. But of course, changed up a bit for my Stamp Club members.

One of the fun things about this project was using a technique which is a take off the heat emboss and resist technique. The Bride Designer Paper has a shiny scroll print which will resist the ink that is applied to it much like an image that is embossed. Using the brayer, we rolled Basic Black ink onto the paper. Then with a tissue, wiped the excess ink off the scroll print and voila! It changes the whole look.

The center accents on each block is card stock cut to 1-1/2" x 12". Scored every 1/2" and folded like a fan. The ends are adhered to each other and layered onto the scalloped square block. (The trick is to flatten out the circle from the center out. Once you get the hang of doing one, it becomes much easier. Don't be afraid to squish it down flat.)

The scallop square block and letters were cut out using my favorite die-cutting machine the Big Shot. Spray a little adhesive over the letter or use the glue pen and sprinkle dazzling diamonds.

Last but not least, adhere the gorgeous ribbon and hang for decoration!

Christmas Banner

This was so much fun to make! I was really happy with the way it turned out. Its an easy project but it takes time (the stitching that is). But if you did this with paper, you could "faux" stitch onto the scallop circles and voila! This project was completed using my favorite die cutting machine--the Big Shot (by Sizzix and sold now through Stampin' Up!) and the exclusive Pennant Die from Stampin' Up!, large scallop circle, and serif alphabet dies. Think of the endless possibilities you could make with all these wonderful materials! Fun, fun, fun!  Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Banner

I am so thrilled with how my Thanksgiving Banner has turned out. My Big Shot by Sizzix (and now available through Stampin' Up!) made this project soooooo easy! I just love what I can do with this die cutting machine! No stamping or ink but just as fun!
