Convention Swap--Wildflower Meadow Card

I've wanted to make a card using the negative of a punched card stock. But then, it seemed too simple just with the punched negative. Slowly, I started to add elements like the Wildflower Meadow Impressions Folder, buttons for the centers, and a banner greeting. Clean and simple.

*TIP: To get the larger rounded corners, insert the corners into the circle punches.

Convention 2011

I'm here in Salt Lake City, UT for Stampin' Up!'s Convention and am having the time of my life!

You didn't know that stampers could PARTY!!! Look at these dancing stampers in front of the stage!

Then, I was reconnected with a fellow demonstrator/friend, Maria, and met her group from FL.

Don't you just love their hats?!

This is one of the reasons I love about Convention, you meet such wonderful people from all over the country, all here for the same love...rubber stamping and creativity!

Continuing on with Convention shares, I have to say that this is one that I LOVED!

A place where everything displayed showcased our delicious colors and yummy accessories. Its where I found my inspiration for my upcoming workshops.

Convention 2010 Pictures

So I finally downloaded some pictures from my camera (it went dead and couldn't find the recharger until now). But I wanted to share with you some of the fun things that we did and were able to capture.

Not only do we attend "business" meetings, we get to have fun/free time. And during one evening, Stampin' Up! hosted a Flower Power Party. It was where many dressed the part and enjoyed far out demonstrations, fun games and activities, and just love and peace all around.

Swap Share for Convention 2010

Every year, the highlight of my summer would be my trip to Salt Lake City for a Stampin' Up! Convention. Its a stamper's heaven: seminars on different products and presentations, make and takes, and overflowing of ideas.

One of the many fun things at Convention is swaps. Picture little boys trading baseball cards, but only its demonstrators sharing their creative cards and 10x more fun!

This is one of my cards that I made.

TIP: I used a technique that I like to call "masking with embossing folders". Wow, that's a long name! But the idea is to put chipboard shims in desired shapes (I chose rectangle) and put them on the places you'd like to see the embossed images and the other areas will not get embossed. Sweetshop Workshop

I have recovered from my wonderful trip to Salt Lake City, UT for Stampin' Up!'s annual convention. I say recovered because its stamping, learning, chatting, eating, and having way too much fun to sleep kind of event for me! I probably gained a good old 5 pounds just from eating desserts and munching late nights with my friends! (But it was soooo worth it!)

Well, speaking of sweets. One of my favorite parts of convention is all the ideas that I get not only from fellow demonstrators but the design team from Stampin' Up! The most delicious part of the event was this:

All handmade with paper, ribbon, and all the wonderful products and delicious colors from Stampin' Up! This is just a sampling but it has got me wanting to replicate my own sweetshop. Stay tuned...

Things I Love Scrapbook Page

Another make and take from Stampin' Up! Convention was an 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" scrapbook page using a new favorite stamp set of mine: Things I Love (115229).
I love the use of the various circle punches to make a lollipop flower as an accent on the page. Scrapbook layouts do not need to be elaborate. Sometimes simple is simply the best!

Convention Share Part 2

Swaps are one of the most fun part of Convention. I stepped into the hotel lobby to check in and the first thing I saw were groups of women just trading their creations like little kids, just excited and full of smiles. I didn't know what I wanted to do first, start trading and get my room later or check-in first!
