Tutorials from Blog Tour: Part 2

As promised, here is a tutorial on the mini tote that I shared on the Royal Blog Tour. You'll need the Big Shot and the Box #2 Bigz XL Die. You'll make the box as normal but leave the top flap and secure the side flaps inside the box with sticky strip.


Then adhere TWO of the Box#2 together.

Instead of using the top flap as my handles, I wanted to add extra height on my tote so that you could carry it comfortably and see the scalloped detail on the handle. So I cut TWO 3-3/4" x 5" of Chocolate Chip card stock. Trimmed the top corners with a 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch. Then adhere the pieces to the top flaps and to each other.

Using the Large Oval Punch, make a hole for the handle. Then for the decorative part on the handle, punch a large oval in Pumpkin Pie card stock and then use the Scallop Oval Punch.

(You'll do that 2x for each side of the handle.)

To finish the whole project, layer the scallop oval onto the handle, wrap the boxes with Designer Series Paper or with a large decorative ribbon as I did and voilà.

Lots of Bots Stationery

My son saw this stationery tote

that I made with my stamp club. (Original idea came from Becky Roberts, you can check out her tutorial here.) And he wanted something like this for himself. So what did I do? Make him one of course!

I used the Lots of Bots stamp set from our new catalog. Available for order starting July 1st. And these wonderful in-colors soon to be gone by June 30th.

The inside of this tote holds 4 envelopes and a notepad with pen. I decorated the pen by inserting a stamped Whisper White card stock into the barrel of

the pen.

The pockets on the outside of the tote hold two of this pocket card

and two of this pocket card.

I only decorated the top of the Whisper White inserts so that Ian had a lot of space to write or draw whatever he pleased. He's sleeping now so I'm sure he'll be happily surprised when he wakes up in the morning to see that his mommy did indeed make him his robot stationery.

Sweet Cherry Tote

This past week was Teacher Appreciation Week. As a class, we decided to give our teachers a small gift each day and at the end of the week, surprise them with a brunch and a big classroom gift. For my day, I wanted to make them something homemade and something to do with papercrafting. I decided to make Becky Robert's Tote-tally Awesome Tote. I made some adjustments but overall, I think it turned out "tote-tally" perfect.
