Sweet Scoops and Summer Mini Recap

My sister-in-law was kind enough to host a "Sweet Tweet" workshop with me.

Sister-in-law is in the red.
She loves candy and birds and thought, why not combine the two for one fun afternoon. (And that is exactly what we did!) Here is one project that we did using the Sweet Scoops stamp set. (I'll show you the other project tomorrow.) Just like the ice cream parlor, you can get as many flavors you want with this set using our delectable colors.

This note card holder is made from Stampin' Up!'s small open-ended envelope.
  1. Lick the flap of the envelope and close.
  2. Trim a sliver off the top of the envelope.

     3.  Fold in half.

     4.  Using the 3/4" punch, cut out a half circle from each inside half of the envelope.

The picture looks like its punched on both layers of the envelope but is only on the inside layer of the envelope.

     5.  Decorate your  cover and add the ribbon for your closure.

These are the darling treats waiting inside.

And although I didn't get a picture of it, which I really regret, I loved the final product from one guest. She stamped her sccop of ice cream a little lopsided. So instead of redoing it, she improvised... drew some drops of ice cream and made it look like it was melting. So creative and by far my favorite that night!!

Unfortunately, this set will vanish at the stroke of midnight. As well with the rest of the summer mini catalog items.

So here is a recap of some of the Summer Mini Catalog before they are gone, gone, gone!

Blissful Bride

Here's another pretty set from the Summer Mini Catalog, Blissful Bride.

I love the colors of Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso together. Its warm and delightful! But I felt that it needed another punch of color, so I went to my handy, dandy Color Coach and found Cherry Cobbler. And I know that I was going to show you some more watercoloring but it just didn't turn out as I had hoped so here it is in its simple form. But I think that's what makes this sophisticated. Then for some added umph, I added the pearls as the buttons for the dress.

And finally . . . my "go to greetings", I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes set to complete the card. Simple, clean, and beautiful!

Pedaling Past

I don't know what it is about this set but once I saw it in the Summer Mini, I had to get it.

I CASEd (copy and share everything) right from the Summer Mini Catalog.

The catalogs are great because it is filled with gazillions of ideas to copy and make your own. I've changed the colors and look a bit but it started with the idea from the catalog.

Can I just tell you how much I'm loving the new products that Stampin' Up! is carrying now? I just love the new crochet trims and especially the new colors. I love the brightness of Marine Mist that was used in this card. I also forgot how much fun it is to watercolor. You can be sure that I'll be showcasing more watercoloring in future blogs.

In A Word . . .

I wanted to share some creations using the stamp set, In a Word. Its a fun set to use because if you look closely, you have two words in one and the meaning behind these simple words are endless.

I got my inspiration for the circles on this card from one of my favorite demonstrators, Mary Fish, and color inspiration from the Color Coach (121620). This color combination of Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, and Tangerine Tango is probably one that I would never have come up on my own but I love its brightness and boldness.

Watch for more Summer Mini Shares and then for sneak peeks for the NEW Holiday Mini, wait till you see!
