Bliss Note Cards

Workshops are so much fun! Its a party every time! We play (stamp), eat, and meet new friends! What's better than that?!

This sample, using the Bliss stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog, was one of 4 note cards that we made at our workshop .
  1. 3" x 6" card stock and fold in half to get 3" x 3" note card.
  2. Stamp the background image in versamark and off set it by stamping on the side of the note card.
  3. Using Early Espresso Classic Ink, stamp the greeting onto the card stock (in this case, So Saffron).
  4. Cut the image out with the Wide Oval Punch (2" x 1-3/8" Oval).
  5. Using the Decorative Label Punch, cut out a piece from the Natural White Card Stock.
  6. Adhere the Natural White card stock to the note card.
  7. Cut a banner out of the Early Espresso Card Stock with the Petal Cone Die. (Trim to size)
  8. Layer the punched pieces using stampin' dimensionals onto the card.
Simple and fun!

Welcome Spring & Redesigned Studio

As I have been redecorating my studio, this is my new "entry way".  I can display my projects and samples here and change out the decorations on the branches according to the theme and season. (The banner shown is one I made for a workshop.)

Its quite a simple banner but that's what I love about it. The Fun Flowers Die has become one of my favorite items from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I used it to cut my Whisper White accents and added the Sweet Stitches fabric brads for the center.
I even found bird printed boxes for extra storage. You can never have enough storage in a craft room!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to you all! Today, I wanted to share some Valentine's Day gifts we made for Ian and Joelle's class and little treats for my three munchkins.

Ian's class will be getting Sponge Bob silly bands but we wanted to dress it up somehow. Then, Ian suggested making Sponge Bob out of punches. So we went at it and came up with this:

We didn't have time to duplicate 26 of them, so I decided that it would only be right to give this original to Ian.

It was a combined effort but I have to say how amazed I am at Ian's creativity.

{Project Details}
Stamp:none
Ink: Basic Black and Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Write Markers.
Paper: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Soft Suede, and Whisper White Card Stock; Red Glimmer Paper
Accessories:Big Shot and Petal Cone Die; 1-3/8" Square and 1/2" Circle Punches; Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

Joelle's gifts were also silly bands and a little chocolate bar, but I really didn't like the packaging (star wars with bright yellow candy bar didn't really scream Valentine's Day). My solution was to cover it up with a regular white envelope.

  1. Sealed the envelope and then cut in half to get two little pockets.
  2. With the jumbo I {Love} Love wheel stamp, rolled it over the bottom section of each pocket.
  3. Adhered the cupcake die cuts(used with my Big Shot).
  4. Inserted all the goodies and folded the top of the pocket over, tucking it behind the top of the cupcake.
  5. For a little more pizazz, I punched the top of the pocket with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.
**For some, I even crimped the whole pocket for more texture and dimension.

{Project Details}
Stamp: Gifted (116982-W/120480-C); I {Love} Love Jumbo Wheel (117084)
Ink: Riding Hood Red Classic Ink; Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.
Paper: Chocolate Chip and Real Red Card Stock.
Accessories: Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder; Pinking Hearts Border Punch; and Crimper.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy the day with your loved ones!

Birds, birds, and more birds

As I have been organizing and redecorating my studio, I have decided to go with a bird theme. (Surprise, surprise.)  I found these bird cages for a great deal and knew I could use them somehow. But it was missing something, so what better than . . . birds. I didn't want just any bird. I wanted chubby, fat PAPER birds.

Bird One was made using a template from Stampin' Up! For the template, click here.
Bird Two was made using chipboard (retired design but you can find a smaller version from the clearance rack here) and covered with Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper. I am in LOVE with this paper!

They sit on top of my bird armoire, which now hide my papers and other goodies! I'll share more pictures of my studio once it is all complete.

Easter Basket

I always enjoy spending time with my Creative Souls (Divas) Team. We get together monthly to share ideas and have fun. Today, Elisa showed us how to make these fun and easy treat box.

  1. Cut your card stock to 8-1/4" x 8-1/4"
  2. Score all four sides at 2-3/4"
  3. Score the 4 corners diagonally. (Outside corner to the corner of the scored lines.)
  4. Fold all the score lines. Pinch the corners and punch a hole to thread your ribbon.
Untie and you've got this special surprise. (We ate the chocolate goodies before I took the picture.)

To decorate the sides, cut your first layer at 2-1/2" x 2-1/2". Then cut the designer series paper to 2-1/4" x 2-1/4". Adhere together and layer onto the treat box.

Have fun creating!
