Sweet Cake Swap

Here's another peek at the Sweet Cake set.
You know how little boys (or girls, I won't be discriminative) trade baseball cards? I swap handmade cards.  Silly or smart? I think its a little bit of both. I get ideas and inspiration from others and to get a card that you probably would never have thought of or just a twist on something is fun to receive. Its like Christmas year round! I hope the ladies who receive this card will find it as sweet and enjoyable as I do.

Holiday Gifts MDS Style

Every year, I am asked to make party favors for my husband's group holiday party. I love it because its my way of contributing to an amazing group of doctors and friends.

This year, I was short on time but still wanted a handmade gift. I turned to My Digital Studio to create 2012 Jewel Case Calendars. I have had these CD like cases FOR--EVER!!! I just never made the calendars until now and what better way than to take advantage of the modern prints and colors from Stampin' Up!'s template. Just design the calendars, print, cut to size, and insert to jewel cases.

Its customized with reminders for their monthly meetings and annual Holiday Party for next year. I love this project because the recipients will find it useful, its digitally homemade, and is a one of a kind gift! Its simple, clean, and modern.

Another calendar gift that we (my sisters-in-law and I) made for the grandparents were pictures of the kids and highlighting each grandchild for his/her respective birthday month.

It was fun and I hope you'll try and test your own magic with digital crafting.

Creative Souls Holiday Party

It was a fun night for our Creative Souls, my creative Stamp Ink Divas group. We decided to get together in honor of Christmas. It was really nice to see everyone (minus a few members).
We worked on the Christmas Keepsake Card Box as our project that evening.
But we needed some delicious snacks, so I baked some cookies and then stamped them while still hot with our sweet pressed cookie stamps. When you order the cookie stamps, they come with some great recipes, but because I was short on time (and a bit of laziness), I went with frozen cookies. I think the stamp still worked fine but if you do use frozen cookies, remember to press them after they are finished cooking to get the best images and then let them cool.
Then, we gorged ourselves on appetizers that evening. But one treat I had to share was one that Stephanie Gaines made.
Cake pops! But check out how she decorated the container! Isn't it just beautiful? You can visit her here for more details.

Finally, we had our gift exchange and here are what some of them made.

Creative, creative, creative!

Thanks for stopping by!
