Let me tell you about a special Half Marathon that I participated last month. It was the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. It was also hosted by Tiffany's. (Yes...the beautiful store with the pretty blue gift boxes!!) But we didn't just do it for the Tiffany necklace, the race benefited the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
It was just an amazing experience. First off, our group (45 women AKA The Real Runningwives of the Inland Empire) was randomly selected to be among 20,000 + runners. Then, after you register and go to Union Square (in San Francisco), Nike posted all the names of participants. Do you see my name?
Then, of course, we shopped our hearts out to get souvenirs and more souvenirs.
After we finished the race, some of the girls got a chance to take some pictures in the photo booth! You'd think we'd be tired after running 13.1 miles but we were all on such a high.
And this is after we had to wait (in cold and rain):
But I have to say it was one of my most favorite and memorable: the friendship that we made, San Francisco beauty (the course was just amazing...hills and all), the food that we ate, and this was all in a 34 hour span!
